“Every election cycle Florida voters do something inexplicable. I mean, my question to you, Jose, is how Rick Scott is governor in the first place?” Maddow asked.
Well, Rick Scott garnered more votes than his Democratic opponent Alex Sink did. In 2010, Rick Scott received 2,619,335 votes to Sink’s 2,557,785. Aside from being civically stupid, Rachel Maddow has deeper concerns with Governor Scott.
“I mean regardless of his policy positions, regardless of where he is ideologically. He is the worst campaigner and the worst debater and the worst public speaker I have ever seen at the top of the ticket in any state. In any top ticket race. How is he governor in the first place?”
Well, again, Rachel, Rick Scott was able to campaign, speak, and articulate his ideological vision for Florida. And he happened to win over more Floridians to his side than that loser Alex Sink did.
“You know, honestly, as far as political figures are concerned, it is an oddity here in Florida. But, you know, there have been odd governors in the past, politically speaking,” said Diaz-Balart attempting to lighten the conversation.“I’m just happy I live here and I want you to come and visit me and then we’ll talk about this because I just want you down here, Rachel,” Diaz-Balart said creepily.
A Real Clear Politics average of all political polls in Florida has that state’s gubernatorial race tied up.
