Senator Mary Landrieu has spent the last two weeks trying to whip up enough votes to get the U.S. Senate to pass a bill that would lead to the construction of the Keystone Pipeline.
The embattled Louisiana Democrat couldn’t even get her party to support the passage of the pipeline bill that would’ve made her look good for voters in Louisiana who don’t even won’t to support her.Still, Landrieu’s last-minute support of the Keystone Pipeline was full of empty theatrics. She is going to get creamed when voters head back to the polls in a few weeks for a runoff election.
A recently released internal poll showed Landreir’s Republican opponent, Rep. Bill Cassidy, beating her by 16 points. And to make matters worse for ol’ Mary, there are 15 more public opinion polls the show Cassidy winning among likely voters.
Mary Landrieu’s days as U.S. Senator are numbered.
Adding insult to injury are the folks over at Freedom Partners Action Fund. They released a new ad Wednesday that jabs Landrieu for supporting Obamacare. The ad also features the insulting comments made by Obamacare architect, Jonathan Gruber.
“Senator Mary Landrieu sold Obamacare to us the Washington way–with false promises and deception,” the ad said. “And Obamacare’s chief architect admits it.”The ad replays clips from Gruber’s insulting statements and hits Landrieu who said she’d vote for Obama’s healthcare law again.
“After 18 years in Washington, it’s time for Mary Landrieu to go,” the ad said.
Louisiana voters head back to the polls on December 6th.
