Media bias? What media bias?
Captain Redbeard of NBC was a guest on The Steve Malzberg Show, where he attempted to explain away the lack of media coverage on Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber. Chuck Todd believes that surrogates simply aren’t “important,” and that there isn’t anything inherently biased about the news media deciding not to cover what they say.Of course, we all know Gruber was no “surrogate,” but rather, as Steve Rattner called him, “the man” when it came to the Affordable Care Act.
“I’m not saying it’s not a story,” Chuck clarified. “Look, I’m not in charge of any of those newscasts, but what is the news today of that? It’s a political story. Network news in general hasn’t been covering the political back and forth of Washington a lot lately. I don’t think this has to do with Gruber, specifically. I would just caution people on that.”
Todd did concede that there may be a slight “cultural bias”…but claimed it isn’t overly as “pervasive” as conservatives charge. Thanks for tossing us a bone, Captain.
