In response to the fact that there’s now a GOP-lead Congress for the first time since 2006, McDonough said beltway politics would certainly “work better,” as long as President Obama gets what he wants from Congressional Republicans.
“Is there one thing you can say to American voters they’re going to see that’s different, given the message they sent on Tuesday?” MSNBC’s Chris Jansing asked McDonough.
“They’re going to see Washington working better if this president has his way,” McDonough said. “And that’s what he’s going to do.”
“How?” Jansing asked.
“Well, we’re going to do it any number of ways,” McDonough said. The President was willing to go out of his way during Wednesday’s post-election speech. He essentially promised to defy the GOP and the American people and swore executive action on immigration is coming by year’s end.
So I think it’s safe to say that Obama “having his way” won’t end well for America.
