Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and numerous other Democrats have now thrown Jonathan Gruber under the bus in the wake of his condescending remarks about the American public, and claimed he didn’t have much to do with crafting Obamacare. But one man who was a part of the administration is telling a very different story.
Consider the narrative destroyed. Former Obama “Car Czar” Steve Rattner says Gruber was “the man” when it came to putting the Affordable Care Act together.“If you go back and look at The Washington Post or The New York Times or anything from that period, you will find Jonathan Gruber’s name all over it,” Rattner told MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “I remember that when I was in the White House, he was certainly viewed as an important figure in helping to put Obamacare together.”
Over the weekend, President Obama referred to Gruber as “some advisor who never worked on our staff.” On Monday, footage surfaced of Obama in 2006, praising Gruber’s work and ideas.
