The problem with ticket scalping is there aren’t any guarantees on the return. Case in point, meet Jason Best. He’s a rather clever “wantrepreneur” who decided to purchase $650 worth of tickets to Sony’s “The Interview.” And then, of course, it was released online. Whoops.
Now Jason is stuck with around 50 unusable, unrefundable tickets that his local movie theater refuses to compensate him for.Interestingly enough, the theater did tell Jason that they would agree to donate the $650 to charity out of principle, but he rejected the offer, since…you know, that would be a completely “irresponsible” use of his money (unlike purchasing all of those tickets in the first place). Makes perfect sense.
