“There’s no time for Islamophobia,” according to CNN. After the terror incident in Australia, The Most Trusted Name in News wants to make sure there isn’t any “anti-Muslim sentiment” in the air. Oh, great.
Reporter Laurie Segall gleefully reported on that news with relief this afternoon, as she promoted a new hashtag that’s trending today, #IllRideWithYou. The hashtag originated from a Facebook post, in which a woman who claims to have seen an Islamic woman taking off her hijab was persuaded to approach her and say, “I’ll walk with you.” The Muslim woman then reportedly cried and put her hijab back on, as they strode side-by-side.You can thank this Twitter user for promptly coming up with the hashtag:
If you reg take the #373 bus b/w Coogee/MartinPl, wear religious attire, & don’t feel safe alone: I’ll ride with you. @ me for schedule
