“Comedy gets to bark. And the weird thing is that Fox News also gets to bark.” Those are the words of (little) wisdom from so-called comedian W. Kamau Bell.
During a Meet the Press panel with fellow comic Lewis Black that was strangely devoid of humor — in part thanks to NBC’s Chuck Todd — Bell opined, “I think sometimes the Left, you know, the left-leaning media, is afraid of barking. And so, the comics – you see this a lot in the left-wing media – they will play a clip of The Daily Show or they will play a clip of John Oliver and go, “Look at this guy barking. Anyway, back to a reasonable discussion.'”Sure, Kamau. We’ve never heard “barking” from the likes of Chris Matthews or Ed Schultz, right? Well, at least he’s acknowledging the existence of a left-wing media. That’s a start.
It’s interesting, however, that he chose to slam Fox News after being fired by its sister FXX cable network last year. Bitter much?
Whoops. Sorry, Bell! Didn’t mean to “bark”!
