• Crowds Heckles De Blasio At NYPD Graduation

Another day, another law enforcement protest against New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Crowds and graduates at a police graduation ceremony Monday heckled de Blasio, the latest in a string of demonstrations against the Democratic mayor.

“You will confront all the problems that plague our society,” de Blasio told the graduating class. “Problems that you didn’t create.”

“You created them” someone from the crowd shouted. The outburst was met with applause from some in the audience as de Blasio continued on with his speech.

The city’s police have been at odds recently with the mayor for his support of protesters concerned with recent allegations of police misconduct. The most recent of these protests were prompted when an officers choked and killed Eric Garner, an unarmed black man.

Police unions have even accused de Blasio of helping to foster an anti-police atmosphere with his support of the protests, The Associated Press reports.

The protests and hostility toward police even resulted in two officers being killed. Officer Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were ambushed and shot dead by Ismaaiyl Brinsley. He said he was avenging the deaths Eric Garner along with Michael Brown, who was killed by a police officer last summer in Ferguson, Missouri. Brinsley killed himself a few minutes later, according to Reuters.

Along with booing and heckling, some in the graduation ceremony turned their backs to the mayor. Over the weekend, thousands of officers also turned their back to the mayor during a Ramos’s wake.
