President Obama has set a “dangerous precedent” with his Cuba announcement, says…Robert Menendez? You heard that right. Here’s one Democrat who’s not standing by his president when it comes to this issue.
“It just seems to me that you had a one-way-deal,” said the New Jersey liberal on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports. Regarding Obama’s swap of three Cuban spies in exchange for prisoner Alan Gross, Menendez explained, “It says to others and the world, ‘Grab an aid worker and you can negotiate.‘” See the senator’s complete remarks above. It’s nice to see a member of the president’s own party calling him out on his shenanigans for once…but can someone please alert ABC News about his criticism?
Sheesh. Listening to that report, you’d think Obama just brought about complete world peace. “Soon, many more Americans will be able to hop a plane to Havana, take a tour, even legally buy one of those famous cigars,” explained reporter Jim Avila.
Actually, he has a good point. Legal Cuban cigars may be the ONLY silver lining of this crappy deal.
