From one Secretary of State to another, it’s time for a little CYA.
While testifying on ISIS, John Kerry was asked about Hillary Clinton’s recent unfortunate remark in which she urged Americans to “empathize” with our enemies. Rather than reject the premise, Kerry decided to rewrite the statement in order to help her, insisting that she wasn’t talking about groups like ISIS.“She was referring to those out there with whom we are not actively fighting or engaged in a war,” Kerry claimed.
Wait, what? If we’re not fighting with people, why would Hillary go out of her to way to encourage us to “empathize” with them?
Yep, I suppose it simply depends on what your definition of “enemies” is. Thanks a pant-load, Senator Ketchup. Now we’re totally confused…which was most likely your intention. Check out the full exchange above, and good luck in trying to make sense of it.
