If you’re going to criticize the Reverend Al Sharpton, make sure you do so on MSNBC for maximum impact. Congressman Peter King demonstrated a mastery of the aforementioned advice during an appearance on Andrea Mitchell Reports this afternoon.
“I think the less that Al Sharpton has to say about running the police department, interfering with the police department, the better everyone would be,” the New York Republican said during a discussion about the NYPD. “Certainly, Al Sharpton should not be involved.”Fill-in anchor Kristen Welker was clearly nonplussed to hear the criticism of her colleague.
“Alright, well, and of course, Al Sharpton does have a show on MSNBC, so I will stay out of that discussion,” the irritated Welker retorted before switching topics.
Well played, Peter King. Well played.
