• Obama Called The Troops “Santa In Fatigues,” And It Didn’t Go Over Well

We are often told that Barack Obama is the smartest, funniest president ever. However, he wasn’t smart enough to know that cracking jokes about the Special Olympics wasn’t a good idea. Obama wasn’t smart enough to know how to correctly pronounce the word “corpsman.” I could also mention the “57 states” gaffe, but you get the point.

And Monday, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, Obama addressed the troops and thought it was a good idea to compare them to Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick.

“We are free and safe and secure over here because you are willing to serve over there,” Obama said.

    So far, so good.

“You never stop serving, you never stop giving, you guys are like Santa in fatigues. Although I bet one of those C-130’s is a little more efficient than Santa’s sleigh,” Obama added.

And that joke drew silence from the crowd of nearly 3,000 brave men and women.

This “joke” was premeditated. A speech writer crafted that quip. And it failed. Epically.

I guess that’s fitting, all things considered.
