On Monday’s broadcast of On Air with Ryan Seacrest, while making a last minute push for Americans to sign up for Obamacare, President Obama compared the wildly unpopular healthcare law to a Christmas gift.
“It’s a good Christmas present for people who already have signed up for the Affordable Care Act,” Obama said.Obama also said that healthcare.gov was working “flawlessly” and added that “there’s actually good deals to be had” through the federal marketplace.
But in fact, the opposite is true.
Just last week Obama’s Health and Human Services department announced that premiums for Obamacare’s “benchmark” insurance coverage, the second-lowest cost health plan, commonly called the “silver” plan, will rise by an average of 2 percent. And within the “silver” plan, premiums for its lower-tiered coverage, will rise by 5 percent.
In all, the average healthcare premiums in 19 states will rise instead of fall.
Some “Christmas present.”Obamacare becomes more unpopular with Americans the longer the law exists.
According to a Real Clear Politics average of polls, more than 52 percent of American voters oppose Obamacare.
