It looks just like a scene from the hugely popular movies National Treasure or Indiana Jones. Although there was no sign of Nicholas Cage or Harrison Ford, Bostonians did indeed discovered an invaluable real-life national treasure.
A 200-year-old time capsule was unearthed at the Massachusetts statehouse in Boston earlier this week. The container is reported to have been placed in the cornerstone of the building on Beacon Hill by revolutionary war hero Paul Revere in 1795. Then-governor of Massachusetts, Samuel Adams is believed to have provided a small copper box to set it in.
The small capsule will be x-rayed and examined over the next several days and its contents will be revealed to the world shortly after that.
The colonial artifact is among one of the oldest of its kind in the country.
