Chris Matthews: Why Would Any Black Person Ever Vote Republican?

Reliably vile crackpot MSNBC host Chris Matthews was in rare form yesterday. On the topic of Republican-backed voter ID laws, Matthews said “I don’t see how anybody who’s African-American would think about voting Republican as long as Reince Priebus is running the show.”

Republicans, Matthews claims, are “still arguing that the reason that they’re making it tough for people to vote, in a big macro sense, like you’ve got to go down to DOT, you got to get a picture taken, you got to get all of this done because they think there’s a lot of cheating by blacks. That’s what they think.”

The tripe falling from Matthews’ mouth in the video above is not meant to convey a substantive argument about voter integrity so much as it is meant to reinforce the false notion that Republicans don’t want black people to vote in political elections.

The truth is, most Americans support official IDs as a requirement to vote.

And even more depressing for these hate-filled liberal idiots is the fact that a majority of black Americans also support a requirement that people must show a state sanctioned ID before casting their vote.

A 2012 Pew Research Center survey showed that 62 percent of black Americans said they believe voters should be required to show an official photo ID before they vote.

MSNBC is, in fact, obsessed with the ridiculous notion that white GOPers want to keep blacks from voting. In one week, that sad network ran 19 voter ID stories smearing and besmirching conservatives in the process. But they never reported polling data that shows an overwhelming majority of Americans favor the Voter ID laws.

Chris Matthews, in his dotage and with much D.C. experience, knows that it was bigoted Democrats who implemented Jim Crow laws and did everything they could, including death threats, to keep black people from voting.

A point to which even Chicago Tribune columnist Clarence Page–who is black and in his 60s–couldn’t help but make, noting that it was “Southern segregationists” (also known as Democrats) who waged war against black voters.

No. Chris Matthews is an awfully bad actor. He’s knows that it’s his buddies, liberal Democrats, that have no other play but throwing out the race card. Chris Matthews, like most Democrats, doesn’t care about black people. All he cares about is perpetuating a lie.
