  • This Congressman Seriously Just Voted for Senator Rand Paul to be House Speaker

The House, the Senate…it’s all the same, right? That’s apparently the case for Congressman Curt Clawson of Florida, who believes Rand Paul of the United States Senate should replace John Boehner as Speaker of the House.

Just in case you missed that, Rand Paul is a SENATOR, not a congressman. But we’ll chalk it up to Clawson having a sense of humor. You can watch an excerpt from the vote above.

Interestingly enough, he wasn’t the only one having some fun at Speaker Boehner’s expense today:

That’s right; other votes for Speaker of the House included Senator Jeff Sessions, Congressman Trey Gowdy, and inexplicably, former Secretary of State-slash-Obama lover Colin Powell.

The 114th Congress is shaping up to be a whole lot of fun already. Let a new year of shenanigans begin!
