• Dem. Senator Menendez Erupts: Obama’s Iran Rhetoric Sounds Like It Came ‘Straight Out of Tehran’

The top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Senator Bob Menendez (D., N.J.), unloaded on the Obama administration Wednesday for trying to block further sanctions against Iran.

“I have to be honest with you: The more I hear from the administration and its quotes, the more it sounds like talking points that come straight out of Tehran,” Menendez said during a hearing on Wednesday. “It feeds to the Iranian narrative of victimization when they are the ones with original sin.”

The White House  is threatening to veto any further sanctions on Iran because of fears that they would hinder a potential nuclear deal with the U.S.

“We’re worried about their perceptions, but our perceptions of what they are doing to advance their nuclear interests can be clearly swept under the rug,” the New Jersey Democrats added.
