• Pretty Awesome: Boehner Invites Bibi to Address Congress … Without Asking Obama

Guess who’s coming to dinner…It’s Bibi! But Barry was cut out of the loop on this one.

That’s right; House Speaker John Boehner (R) has taken it upon himself to invite Israel’s Prime Minister to address a joint session of Congress. And when asked whether he consulted President Obama before making the call, Boehner revealed that he didn’t feel it was necessary.

I did not consult with the White House. The Congress can make this decision on its own,” he said.

A bit passive-aggressive on the part of the Republican leader? Perhaps. But it was also a stroke of genius to push back on an administration that has disrespected America’s greatest ally in more ways than one can possibly list.

I don’t believe I’m poking anyone in the eye,” Boehner added. “There is a serious threat that exists in the world and the president last night kind of papered over it.”

Boom. That should make up for the Speaker having to sit, clap, and smile behind Obama for an entire hour last night. Watch Boehner’s remarks above.
