Way to kick off an optimistic new year, Charlie! Harlem’s infamous Democrat Congressman Charles Rangel believes Republican Majority Whip Steve Scalise “knew exactly what he was doing” when he spoke at a white supremacy event back in 2002.
But interestingly enough, the latest news is that Scalise may not have even spoken at that controversial conference at all.It had been reported in recent days that Congressman Scalise delivered remarks at a meeting of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization (EURO) back in 2002, a group which had ties to David Duke and to which Scalise has admitted he didn’t know whom specifically he was speaking. But according to some sources, that may not have actually taken place at all, despite Scalise’s willingness to accept full responsibility for it.
Still, Charlie Rangel is perfectly happy painting with a broad brush. Surprised?
“What I would like to see [from Scalise], … is that ‘Yes, I leaned toward racist tendencies,'” he told MSNBC.
Rangel went on to explain that he wouldn’t call for the Republican to resign because “trying to hide the depth of racism that exists by getting rid of pimples on an elephant’s behind is ridiculous.”
Another uplifting New Year’s Day message from an ethics-plagued race-baiter. Thanks, dude!
