• Sex Shop Brought To Its Knees By Catholic Organization

A Pennsylvania sex shop is hot and bothered about a group of Catholic protesters’ “No More Porn Tour,” but they finally conceded defeat this week.

A federal court dismissed an adult store’s lawsuit against a Catholic ministry that was protesting nearby. Judge Petrese Tucker dismissed the case in which Adult World sued The King’s Men and its members for a range of reasons that included trespassing and protesters interfering with their business.

The lawsuit claims the protesters trespassed and refused to leave the afternoon of Aug. 3 2011, disrupting their business. They also claim the protesters sprinkled holy water on the property and buried “miraculous medals” in the ground.

The protesters left and returned on Sept. 14 of the same year. The store filed a suit the next day asking for the protesters to be banned and requested compensation for the damage to their business.

The King’s Men say their protests never went onto Adult World property and that this is an issue of free speech.

“The constitutionally protected freedom of people to express their views in public areas has been an essential part of American life since the nation’s founding,” said senior counsel Brett Harvey of Alliance Defending Freedom, the group that defended The King’s Men, in a press release. “We are very pleased that this ministry can continue its work and advance its values without the threat of baseless litigation.”
