Former Falls Church Democratic Party Chairman Michael Gardner talked about hiring a hitman to kill two young girls before they testified against him at his March 4th trial.
The letter was intercepted by authorities and showed a discussion between Gardner and another inmate who could “help him with the problems he has pre-trial”. In addition, he had also considered the two prosecutors as potential murder victims as well.Gardner was convicted in 2012, and sentenced to 22 years in prison for molesting two girls at a slumber party for his daughter’s 10th birthday.
The conviction was later overturned by the Virginia Supreme Court, stating that the courts wrongly denied him character evidence in his case. Gardner’s wife is also a former mayor of Falls Church, VA.
Gardner is apparently not facing any new charges for the alleged crime, but prosecutors do plan on using the conversation as evidence in his new trial.
