It’s no surprise when you have a fiery interview between a liberal TV host and a conservative Senator, but during a recent interview with CNBC host Kelly Evans, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) literally shushed the host and asked her to calm down.
The argument began when Evans asked the Senator about the recent comments he made on the Laura Ingraham Show about how parents should be able to decide whether or not to vaccinate their children. From the Blaze:
At this point, Evans continued to interrupt the Senator with her own bias on the issue, to which Paul replied, “Your premise and your question is mistaken”.“I guess being for freedom would be really unusual,” Paul replied sarcastically. “I guess I don’t understand the point of why that would be controversial.”
After the host continued to emphasize the importance of vaccinating against certain diseases, like measles, Paul clarified his stance on vaccines.
“I think vaccines are one of the greatest medical breakthroughs that we’ve had. I’m a big fan,” he said. “But, you know, for most of our history, they have been voluntary.”
Paul then grew so frustrated that he put his finger to his mouth and shushed the host before stating that “part of the problem is you have interviews like this, that are so slanted that you don’t get useful information”.
