• RECAP: Ted Cruz’s Fiery Speech At CPAC 2015

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, didn’t hold back when he took the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Thursday in National Harbor, Maryland.

The junior Senator, and likely 2016 Presidential Candidate, took the opportunity to separate himself from the growing field of Republicans who are dipping their toes in the water for a run at the presidency, by pointing out his hard-line conservative background.

“If you’re really conservative, you will have been in the trenches, you will have bared the scars, you will have fought the fight,” Cruz said.

He later took a swipe at Hillary Clinton, saying that CPAC could have had her at the conference but “couldn’t find a foreign nation to foot the bill,” talking about her latest scandal that she received millions in donations from foreign governments while Secretary of State.

Cruz continued to position himself as the most conservative man in the room without calling out other potential republican candidates, and vowed that if he were President, he would repeal Obamacare and abolish the IRS.
