A Texas woman’s home was nearly burglarized Tuesday by a man with a long criminal history.
According to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, the woman was home alone when she heard 37-year-old Christopher Ray Foster trying to break into her house. She was home alone.Likely feeling like she had no other options, the woman shot and killed Foster, then called the police afterward.
The incident happened at around 4:30 in the mooring. When the police arrived, Foster, a convicted sex offender, was already dead.
Foster “had a lengthy criminal history” and had recently been locked up following an accusation of “failing to comply with registration requirements as a sex offender,” local media reports.
“Presently, as the result of under-funding and inadequate staffing at the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, homeowners need to take appropriate precautions to protect their families,” Sheriff Michael Ray said in reaction to the shooting.
The Sheriff says he supports “law abiding citizens when they are forced to take actions to protect their life, liberty and property.”Send this to a friend
