• CLAIM: Obama’s Role In Israeli Election Bigger Than Reported

A little over a week ago, you may have heard about a taxpayer funded campaign that was aimed to defeat Bibi in the Israel election, where over $350,000 of taxpayer money was granted by the State Department to a non-profit organization that lobbies for an “independent, viable Palestinian state.”

Now that the dust has settled, and Netanyahu won, reports are showing that President Obama’s role in the anti-Bibi election may have been significantly more than originally reported, according to a pollster for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party.

“What was not well reported in the American media is that President Obama and his allies were playing in the election to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu,” John McLaughlin, a Republican strategist, said during a radio interview on AM970 in New York.

“There was money moving that included taxpayer U.S. dollars, through non-profit organizations. And there were various liberal groups in the United States that were raising millions to fund a campaign called V15 against Prime Minister Netanyahu,” he added. (Emphasis added.)

The result from the negative campaign ads were almost near fatal, as Netanyahu was deemed as an underdog in the fight, until the Prime Minister spoke to a joint session of Congress earlier this month, giving his campaign a much needed boost.

After Bibi’s big win, V15 co-founder Nimrod Dweck said in an interview with MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow that “not a single cent” of State Department or taxpayer money had gone to their campaign.

“These are false allegations and they have nothing to do with reality,” Dweck said, even though the group was directly linked to the Washington based non-profit OneVoice. A bipartisan Senate Committee has launched an investigation into the matter.
