Wednesday morning, at least 19 people were slaughter killed by three gunmen in a terror attack on the famous Bardo museum in Tunisia.European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini blamed Islamic State militants for Wednesday’s attack. “The EU is determined to mobilize all the tools it has to fully support Tunisia in the fight against terrorism,” Mogherini said.
More than 3,000 Tunisians have gone to fight with ISIS. Islamic State fighters have been become particularly active in the neighboring nation of Libya.
“You’ve seen a civil society develop,” Obama said, “elections take place . . . Islamists being willing to be involved in the political process without trying to take it over completely.”
Two gunmen were killed by police fire. A massive manhunt is underway to capture three more suspects who are being thought to have worked as accomplices, Tunisian prime minister Habib Essid said.
