• Is This The ‘Gayest’ Sweater On The Planet?

    The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) is trying to combat homophobic language by creating the world’s first “Gay Sweater,” which consists of “donated” hair from over 1,000 LGBT individuals.

    The sweater is being showcased at Toronto’s Fashion Week, and the organization is calling it “the world’s only 100% gay object.”

    “The idea for the sweater was born from a desire to educate and encourage everyone to use ‘gay’ the correct way,” CCGSD Director Jeremy Dias said to the Huffington Post U.K.

    “We want the conversation that surrounds the gay sweater to inspire those who are using ‘gay’ in a detrimental way to both realize the negative impact their words and actions are having and change their behavior,” he added.

    The sweater also features rainbow colored buttons which were made from human hair, and has been described “unbelievably itchy.”
