• Thousands Of D.C. Residents Received Free Marijuana Seeds

    It’s high time.

That was the sentiment circulating our nation’s capital during last Thursday’s event that saw thousands of Washington D.C. residents falling in line so they grab a handful of free marijuana seeds.

The event was in celebration of the one-month anniversary of Ballot Initiative 71, which essentially legalized recreational use of weed in the District of Columbia.

And what better way to celebrate the freedom to smoke pot than to hand out free weed seeds. At least that’s how the DC Cannabis Campaign decided to celebrate.

D.C. residents are permitted to possess no more than two ounces of weed at a time, grow up to six plants at home, and the bud can’t be sold–only given away for free.

“So, basically you walked in, you go upstairs and there’s tons of cool people just giving out their seeds,” one woman told WASU. “It was just really awesome. Everyone’s just super welcoming and totally giving.”
