• Army Hero Called ‘Murderer’ For Afghanistan Service

Retired Army Capt. Matt Zeller found a disturbing message on his car while grocery shopping Sunday night.

According to a post on Zeller’s Twitter page, someone put a note on his windshield calling Zeller a “murderer” and said he should be ashamed of himself for serving in Afghanistan

“I hope you watch your child starve and die in front of you, as you have done to the people of Afghanistan,” the note read.

During an interview on FOX News, Zeller said he was angry someone would take out their frustration about the war on his child.

“I have no problem if you disagree with the war or my service. That’s your right. I went to war to defend that, but leave my child out of this,” he said.

The person who left Zeller the note must not have known him, because he has done quite a bit to help the Afghan people after he left the Army.

Through his charity group called ‘No One Left Behind,’ Zeller has been working to bring Afghan and Iraqi combat interpreters to resettle in the United States.

“I’m only sitting here talking to you because my translator from the war saved my life. He shot and killed two Taliban fighters who were about to kill me,” Zeller said. “I spent five years fighting for this guy to get his visa to get his family over here.”

Since Zeller brought his former translator to the United States, the two have worked together to bring more than 400 other Afghans and Iraqis to the U.S.
