Jesse Jackson and Jesus “Chuy” Garcia were caught off guard during a campaign event when an outraged local Chicago activist told them to “go to hell.”
“Don’t come into our community and act like you care,” activist Mark Carter yelled. “Ya’ll don’t care, this pastor don’t care. He don’t care about us. Nobody knows him…to hell with all ya’ll.”Both Jackson and Garcia, who is challenging Mayor Rahm Emanuel in next month’s runoff election, stood mum as Carter completely ragged on them.
Carter blasted both men, claiming that they didn’t care about the problems facing his community.
“Ya’ll don’t speak for us, you’re starving the people to the death,” Carter added. ” Ya’ll don’t have nothing to say. Ya’ll starving people, let them die and go to jail–ya’ll have said nothing to the people…”
Carter said that Chuy is backed by the teacher’s union “who are responsible for our schools closing and putting black teachers out of work.”
