• Riiiiiight: Harry Reid Denies He Got Beat Up By The Mob

Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) is presenting a new explanation of why he looks so beat up.

CNBC’s John Harwood bluntly told Reid that “a bunch of people are saying, Reid, he didn’t have an exercise accident, he got beat up by the mob.”

Reid denied fabricating the explanation for his injury and adds a new detail to his story, claiming his wife witnessed the incident.

“It shows the credibility of Rush Limbaugh. He’s the guy that got all this started,” Reid said.  “Why in the world would I come up with a story that I got hurt in my own bathroom with my wife standing there? How could anyone say anything like that? I think a lot of people that I read kind of don’t like me as a person. I think that’s unfortunate,” Reid says.

In his first version of the story, Reid said, while exercising in his bathroom the exercise band attached to the shower door “broke.”

Last week Reid explained a second version of the incident. He told Univision’s Jorge Ramos “a big metal hook that came out from the wall that was hooked there that the strap had no handle on it, slipped, spun me around, uh, about, oh I guess four feet and so I smashed my face into a cabinet so hard that uh…”

Reid also called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a “lump of coal” during the interview with Hardwood and remarked that all the Republican candidates for 2016 are “losers.”

“Mitch McConnell just sent out letters to states saying don’t follow through on Obama’s climate plan,” Harwood told the Nevada senator and minority leader.

“I don’t criticize McConnell for doing that. He comes from a coal state. I don’t mean to be mean-spirited, but he is a lump of coal,” Reid said. “He believes that coal is the salvation of the world. I don’t believe that.”

When asked by Harwood who the Republican nominee is likely to be, Reid said flatly replied “You know, I don’t really care. I think they’re all losers.”
