  • THEY CAVED: Indiana Lawmakers Water Down RFRA

    Indiana Republicans announced Thursday that they plan to respond to the title wave of pressure from the Left-wing Outrage Machine by gutting the state’s newly-minted Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA).

    In its current form, Indiana’s RFRA mirrors similar federal status that seek to preserves the right of people of faith to act according to their rights in their businesses, so long as those principles do not conflict with a “compelling state interest.”

    Even though Indiana’s RFRA clearly states that service providers are prohibited to use the RFRA as a defense if they refuse to serve people based on sexual orientation, the law will be changed to included people who are homosexuals.

    Controversy was sparked by liberal gay rights activists because of phony fears that business owners may–at some point in the future–use the RFRA to discriminate against same-sex couples.

    Now, in a completely unnecessary attempt to appease a crazy liberal mob, Indiana legislators will now expand state anti-discrimination laws to include sexual orientation explicitly.

    Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma said that such legislation “needs to be discussed.”

    “It was the perception that had to be addressed.” He added, “All we can say is we are sorry that misinterpretation hurt so many people,” Bosma said.

    Perception?

    Really?

    The role of government is not to legislate away what some people might perceive as negative perceptions. .

    The only thing sorry about this sad situation is that these cowards caved to the fascist left and it still won’t be enough to make them happy.
