This Is An Actual ISIS Birth Certificate … And A Grenade, A Gun, And A Baby

The Islamic State has published streams of online material to hype its strength and control. But now, transnational terrorist organization is even exploiting infants to spread the message of its brutality.

A Syrian activist posted a picture of a newborn next to a handgun, grenade and birth certificate issued by the Islamic State on Twitter Sunday. The image was originally taken by a member of the Islamic State, reports The Independent. It has yet to be authenticated.

Abu Ward Al-Raqqawi, who released the photograph, is an anti-Islamic State activist in Raqqa, a city considered the terror organization’s stronghold in Syria. “#ISIS issued ID for a child. Name: Jrah. Dad: Abu Jrah. Mom: Om Jrah. This child will be [a] risk to you not just to us,” wrote Raqqawi.

The baby was born last Thursday and the birth certificate was issued on Saturday, according to the document. Last week, CNN published a photograph of an Islamic State-issued birth certificate from Aleppo, Syria.
