• Alan Colmes: FBI Should Investigate Clinton Foundation

The video clip above shows liberal pundit Alan Colmes calling for the FBI to investigate the Clinton Foundation.

What interesting about Colmes’ declaration isn’t so much that as a dedicated liberal you’d assume he’d be providing Hillary Clinton with cover, but that this isn’t Colmes’ first time calling for an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation’s finances.

Colmes appeared on Bill O’Reilly’s show Tuesday night and called for a similar federal inquiry there as well.

“She’s got to answer questions. She’s got to stand up and answer to the press, whether it’s a news conference or an interview. The FBI might want to look into this,” Colmes said.

Oddly enough, Colmes isn’t the first major liberal to come out in support of scrutiny of the Clinton Foundation–criticisms that were spurred by the book Clinton Cash, which uncovered revelations of pay-to-play at Hillary Clinton’s State Department.

Liberal economist and Director of Columbia University’s Earth Institute, Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, said “There is a lot here that is real.”

Liberal Columnist Jonathan Chait wrote a scathing review of the Clintons and their foundation in New York magazine: “The news today about the Clintons all fleshes out, in one way or another, their lack of interest in policing serious conflict-of-interest problems that arise in their overlapping roles. The Clintons’ charitable initiatives were a kind of qasi-government run by themselves, which was staffed by their own loyalists and made up the rules as it went along. Their experience running the actual government, with its formal accountability and disclosure, went reasonably well. Their experience running their own privatized mini-state has been a fiasco.”

All this comes as new accusations that the Clinton Foundation is still accepting foreign donations, despite Hilary’s promise that it wouldn’t while her presidential campaign persists.
