Presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) claimed in an essay he penned in 1972 that men fantasize about women being abused and women fantasize about being gang raped.
Sanders shared his thoughts on male and female sexuality“A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy,” Sanders wrote in an article entitled Men-And-Women that was published in an alternative newspaper called the Vermont Freeman. “A woman on her knees. A woman tied up. A woman abused.”
He provided similar insight in terms of his understanding of female sexual fantasies.
“A woman enjoys intercourse with her man—as she fantasizes about being raped by 3 men simultaneously,” Sanders continued. “Do you know why the newspapers with the articles like “Girl 12 raped by 14 men” sell so well? To what in us are they appealing?”
Sanders didn’t specify how he acquired his expertise on male and female sexual desires. The opinion piece was written after Sanders launched his first bid for Senate in 1971, the first of four losing campaigns for US Senate and governor. Yet he has never been called on to explain these bizarre past statements. No one in the media has asked him about his early views on sexuality
Imagine if it any current GOP candidate wrote something along these lines.
