• CONFLICTS: George Stephanopoulos’s Clinton Donations Exposed

While former-Clinton White House Hatchet man and current ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos was grilling Clinton Cash author Peter Schweizer about his book that exposed a system of favors for donations at the Clinton Foundation, ol’ George had been keeping a secret from his employers at ABC and his This Week audience.

George Stephanopoulos gave $50,000 to the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, according to Politico.

That’s right. While he was pounding an author who wrote a book critical of the Clintons and donations to the charity, George Stephanopoulos failed to tell the world that he was, in fact, a Clinton Foundation donor.

Once a hack, always a hack.

ABC and Stephanopoulos have apologized for failing to publicly disclose this important piece of information.

“I made charitable donations to the Foundation in support of the work they’re doing on global AIDS prevention and deforestation, causes I care about deeply,” Stephanopoulos said in a statement. “I thought that my contributions were a matter of public record. However, in hindsight, I should have taken the extra step of personally disclosing my donations to my employer and to the viewers on air during the recent news stories about the Foundation. I apologize.”

But Schweizer isn’t interested in apologies.

I’m “really quite stunned by this,” Schweizer said in an email to Bloomberg News reporter Joshua Green. It’s “a massive breach of ethical standards. He fairly noted my four months working as a speech writer for George W. Bush. But he didn’t disclose this?”

If ABC allows the now noted hack George Stephanopoulos to moderate a single presidential debate, the GOP will have every right to raise hell.
