• Grandma Throws Babies From Second Floor Of A Burning Building

A Maryland house fire forced a grandmother and her two small grandchildren into a daring escape Sunday.

It was just after 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning when two friends headed out for an early hunt. They spotted a fire at a nearby house, called 911 and ran over to see if they could help, The Washington Post reported.

The two hunters couldn’t get inside the house because of the heat from the flames and smoke, but they saw the grandmother at the window and told her to toss the two babies that were in the room with her down to them.

The woman was initially hesitant to release the two children, aged two and three, but the two men yelled at her to let go, and eventually she did.

After dropping the two children safely into the arms of the two good samaritans, the 58-year-old grandmother was forced to jump out the window herself to avoid the raging fire.

A spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department told WBAL the woman went to the hospital, but her injuries were non-life threatening.

In addition to the grandmother and two children, six other members of the family were in the home at the time of the fire, but were able to make it out safely.

The fire destroyed the home, and investigators are still working to find what caused the fire.
