  • Krauthammer: Obama ‘Doesn’t Know A Damn Thing About What’s On Fox’

Syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer blasted Obama for his recent comments about Fox News Wednesday during an interview on “The Hugh Hewitt Show,” saying the president “doesn’t know a damn thing about what’s on Fox.”

Krauthammer was referring to remarks Obama made Tuesday during a discussion on poverty.  He said the network vilifies poor people with “a constant menu” of showing “that the poor are sponges, leeches, don’t want to work, are lazy, [and] are undeserving.”

“This is sort of pathological Obama where he picks up these memes. He doesn’t know a damn thing about what’s on Fox,” Krauthammer told Hewitt. “The idea that Fox is constantly is showing sponges and leeches and never shows, you know, the waitress trying to make it — it’s just sort of the mythological world he lives in, or he may be cynical. I mean, he may know it’s all nonsense. I mean, I can’t tell. After all, you probably need a psychiatrist to figure that out.”

“But he’s either cynical or hopelessly delusional on this. I would prefer to think he’s cynical because I’d like somebody in the White House who’s not delusional,” Krauthammer said. “And this is the usual Obama cynicism. It’s the media, it’s the press. They’re under-reporting liberal successes.”

Krauthammer made fun of Obama’s constant attacks on Fox on Tuesday’s edition of “Special Report,” when he suggested that the Fox should take an ad out and thank Obama for joining “the viewership of the number one network.”

“Look the fact is that the war on poverty — the billions poured in to helping the poor, which in my twenties I rather supported, until my thirties the empirical social science evidence began to come out that it wasn’t just money poured down the drain, but it was undermining the traditional structures of even the poorest neighborhoods and leading to real terrible pathologies, including helping to accelerate the breakdown of the family,” Krauthammer continued.

“So these are just the empirical social science refuting the liberal nostrums about how to help the poor. But he never engages in argument, it’s all ad hominem.”
