GOP Presidential candidate and Florida Senator Marco Rubio is warning Americans of what is a “real and present danger” to their freedom of religion
Rubio discussed his strong Catholic faith Tuesday during an interview on CBN’s the Brody File, saying that it might not be long before that faith is turned into a crime by a growing leftist bigotry that is rising in the country.“We are at the water’s edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate-speech,” Rubio said. “Because today we’ve reached the point in our society where if you do not support same-sex marriage you are labeled a homophobe and a hater.”
The next step, Rubio argued that the end game for liberals who have already begun to persecute and prosecute individual Christians is ultimately to outlaw the faith itself.
“So, what’s the next step after that? After they’re done going after individuals the next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, is hate-speech and there’s a real and present danger,” he said.
Rubio also talks about his views on the family in the interview, as well as his belief that America’s need to lead the world in industry and in the fight for freedom for all the people of the world.
“You don’t want to be engaged in every conflict on the planet. We’re not the world’s policemen,” he said. “But I question – what would happen in the alternative? If America doesn’t lead, what happens? Well, what happens is chaos.”Send this to a friend
