Police: More Armed Bikers Could Be On Their Way To North Texas

Police have sent out a memo following the gruesome gang shootout on Sunday saying that more armed bikers may soon be on their way to North Texas.

The shooting apparently wasn’t enough to cool tensions between five rival gangs, as the Bandidos and Cossacks sent out messages telling members to regroup for another round, CNN reports. Although Waco Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton declined to officially issue the names of the gangs involved, photos from the scene showed clearly the insignias of the Cossacks, Bandidos, Scimitars and Vaqueros.

On Sunday afternoon shooting broke out at the Twin Peaks Sports Bar and Grill in Waco. Officers, knowing that the location was a common hangout for bikers, responded within 30 seconds. In fact, bikers expected a rapid police presence, but as Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton put it, “That mattered not to them.”

Police arrested 192 people on charges of organized crime and confiscated up to 100 weapons. A total of 18 people landed in the hospital. Officers remained unscathed, despite taking fire. (RELATED: Three Rival Biker Gangs Clash In Waco, Leaving 9 Dead)

Police think that a dispute over a parking spot may have sparked the massacre.

“It’s like the Wild West,” McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said, Dallas News reports. “These guys become very violent to each other very quickly over nothing.”

As to the Twin Peaks Sports Bar and Grill, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission first shut the restaurant down for a week over fears of further violence. On Monday, the commission added that an investigation was underway and could lead to a major fine or a revocation of the establishment’s liquor license.

However, Twin Peaks’ corporate management decided to take matters of punishment into its own hands, saying in a statement that it would be “revoking their franchise agreement immediately. Our sympathies continue to be with the families of those who died and are very thankful no employees, guests, police officers or bystanders were hurt or injured.”

Shortly after management released the announcement, the restaurant’s Facebook page disappeared.
