• This NPR Correction May Be The Greatest Of All Time

    NPR published this correction Thursday that you may have to read more than once to appreciate, or maybe just to understand.

    The news organization posted a clarification at the bottom of this story about the first warm blooded fish ever found. It said:

    The correction appears to reference this paragraph:

    “The fish had an average muscle temperature about 5 degrees C [roughly 9 degrees Fahrenheit] above the surrounding water while swimming about 150 to 1,000 feet below the surface,” NOAA says.

    That number would still seem to be wrong, though, because 5 degrees Celsius is roughly 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
