Two bombs were set off in the middle of Clinton Inc. on Wednesday.
The first explosion came from Joyce A. Barr, the State Department’s assistant secretary for the Bureau of Administration, who said “I think the message is loud and clear that that is not acceptable.” Barr was talking about Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email account to conduct official government business during her time as secretary of state. The second blast to Hillary’s campaign came just hours after Barr’s comments, when ABC News reporter Jon Karl asked White House press idiot Josh Earnest if the president thinks it’s “not acceptable to use private email for official business.”
Earnest did his usual song and dance, saying that the White House provides “guidance” to all government officials that encourages the use of government emails when conducting official business.
Earnest’s, and by definition the White House’s, response to this dogging headache is to say that Hillary Clinton as secretary of state should’ve known better than to use her own personal email account while conducting official government work.
Obama isn’t willing to damage his credibility in an attempt to protect Hillary Clinton.
So without the White House blocking for her, Hillary is open up to public shaming–like the blistering remarks from Secretary Barr–and questions and scrutiny, like the kind that Jon karl seems to be so very good at supplying. These scandals aren’t just going to disappear for Hillary. And Joyce Barr and Jon Karl aren’t members of the Vast Rightwing Conspiracy.
Whether before Congress–like she’s already agree to–or before the America people, Hillary is going to have to own up to her mistakes.
