Bruce Jenner, after undergoing hours of facial-feminization surgery, breast augmentation and hormone therapy, has revealed a new identity and name.
The latest issue of Vanity Fair, features a large photo of Jenner as a woman with the caption “Call Me Caitlyn.”The one-time Olympic gold medalist poses on the cover in a one-piece corseted lingerie outfit.
“Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Every day he always had a secret from morning till night. Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets,” Bruce says in a online video that shows her/him/it being photographed for the magazine.
“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,” the reality star told the magazine.
Jenner detailed her transition in a two-hour tell-all 20/20 interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer last month, in which she said she had “always been confused” about her gender identity.
“I am a woman,” Jenner told Sawyer. “It’s not like I’ve been dressing up like a woman, it’s like I’ve spent my whole life dressing like a man.”The issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands June 9.
