• New York City Mayor De Blasio Snubs Hillary, Again

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is skipping Hillary Clinton’s Roosevelt Island presidential launch event this Saturday, prompting questions about his support for her candidacy.

The liberal mayor says he still needs Clinton to talk about the income inequality issue.

“What I am waiting to hear about is the fight against income inequality, how we raise wages and benefits, how we create the kind of progressive taxation system we need,” de Blasio told reporters at a city event in the Bronx. “It’s June. The election is next year. There’s plenty of time.”

He also complimented a competitor for the Democratic nomination on Clinton’s left.

“I’ve always liked what I’ve heard from Bernie Sanders,” he said, calling the Vermont senator a “great voice for a fairer society and a fairer economy.”

De Blasio, who was Clinton’s  Senate campaign manager in 2000, refused to endorse her when she first announced her candidacy for the White House.
