• O’Reilly: White House Rainbow Lights ‘Wrong and Insulting,’ Slap in the Face

Bill O’Reilly said the Obama administration’s to illuminate the White House rainbow lights to celebrate gay marriage on Friday was an “in your face” gesture to traditional Americans.

“I was a bit surprised seeing the White House doing a victory lap, using actual White House property on Friday—The People’s House was illuminated in rainbow colors to celebrate the gay marriage decision,” O’Reilly said. “What about all the Americans who believe the redefinition of marriage is not the job of the Supreme Court?”

The White House shone the lights and tweeted that “America should be very proud” following the Supreme Court’s ruling to legalize gay marriage nationwide on Friday.

“Do you believe the White House should be used to promote policy?” O’Reilly asked Juan Williams. “What’s next?  A banner going down saying liberalism is good? I mean come on, it’s The People’s house—all the people.”

Williams said it was totally legitimate for the President to do what he did and argued that there were no tax dollars used for that illumination.

“That’s ridiculous, the whole thing is a tax payer dollar,” O’Reilly replied. “The whole property. All the security.”

Mary Katharine Ham said it’s, at worst, “a little bit of a football spike” and noted the more important issue is the fact that Obama has waffled on the issue of gay marriage over the years.

“It’s the people’s house,” O’Reilly reiterated. “It’s wrong and insulting to light up the white house like that—that building should not be used for political purpose.”

O’Reilly must have forgotten, President Obama believes the White House is his house.
