• SURPRISE: TSA Missed Dozens With Ties to Terrorism

Last week we learned that a large-scale sting operation lead to undercover government agents who managed to smuggle weapons, explosives, and fake drugs through TSA security checkpoints at several of America’s largest and busiest airports. In all, 67 out of 70 attempts saw agents sneaking dangerous objects passed TSA checkpoints.

But if you thought that was bad, it gets so much worse.

The report also reveals that the TSA doesn’t have full access to the governments terrorist watch list which holds the identity of some of the world’s most dangerous people and disallows them to board flights.

The Department of Homeland Security report says that the TSA didn’t flag and stop up to 73 individuals believed to have ties to terrorist organizations around the world.

Worse still, according to the DHS report, is that these individuals with terror ties that weren’t flagged worked as airline employees, airport venders; and others, some of them having access to sensitive and secure areas of some America’s major airports.

There are still thousands of aviation records that are “incomplete” or just “inaccurate,” the DHS report explains. There at least 87,000 immigrants working at these airline that didn’t have a social security number when they were hired and there were 75,000 immigrants who flew without a passport number.

A Senate committee on homeland security hearing will be held Tuesday in an attempt to fully uncover these disturbing lapses in America’s airport security and screening systems.

Hearings are nice but perhaps it’s time to do away with the TSA. It is not and has never proven to be effective at securing anything but more government bureaucracy and mediocrity.
