• The Pope is Officially a Global Warming Alarmist

It breaks my heart to report that the Pope is now reading from the same hymnal of man-made global warming as climate nut Al Gore.

While the Pope opposes population control–an actual solution to climate change that’s constantly proposed by earth-worshipping lunatics–he is asking people to “change their lifestyles” as a means to slow “rising sea levels” so we can avoid a global warming catastrophe due “mostly” to human action.

This is all found in the Pope’s encyclical on “global warming,” which was leaked to the media four days before it was scheduled to officially launch.

Here’s a bit of text of the draft of the encyclical leaked to the the Italian magazine l’Espresso:

Global warming, it says, is “mostly” due to human activity and the burning of fossil fuels.

Humanity must become aware of the “need to change lifestyles, production and consumption” in order to combat warming.

The pollution produced by carbon dioxide increase the acidity of the oceans and impairs the marine food chain.

Rising sea levels “can create situations of extreme gravity”.

    Etc.

If this is indeed what ends up coming out of the final version of the Pope’s encyclical, then God help us all–especially the poor.

The economic mandates and burdensome regulations that will surely be called for more brazenly by governments and politicians around the world as a result of the Pope’s awfully misguided declaration, will cripple an already bruised global economy.

How does this improve the still shaky credibility of the Catholic church? I would like to believe that a majority of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics don’t want a political lecture from their Pope. Or am I wrong?

The Pope warns that the poor are “affected most” by global warming. With all due respect, he’s just wrong. The very fossil fuels that the Pope seeks to diminish are improving the quality of life far faster and much more efficiently than widely expensive renewable energy (solar, wind,). Why cripple the potential of historically failed economies just as they are finally seeing the benefits of growth spurred by fossil fuel?

And what for the science of global warming?

The Pope doesn’t hold an advanced degree in chemistry or atmospherics. And there’s simply no definitive evidence that sea levels are rising at dangerous rates. Icecaps are expanding, however.

It’s the Pope’s hubris that’s so disappointing. A man of faith forging ahead on politically-charged subject that still has more questions that it does answers is revolting.

There’s also a cosmic irony here in that global warming evangelists believe that people are endangering the earth without evidence to prove that that is, in fact, true. Global warming alarmists can’t be reasoned with and, thus, their belief in man-made climate change becomes, in a sense, itself a religion.

Leave it to Liberalism to turn the most revered man of faith on earth into a mindless dupe droning on with unabashed confidence about an unproven occurrence.
