  • Woman Dies After Illegal Butt Injection

    I read headlines like the one above and think to myself, “Darwin was right.”

    My grandmother just said to me that the end times are upon us, and this story is making it hard for me to just ignore granny’s warning.

    Kelly Mayhew, 34, of Suitland, Maryland died over the weekend after she received a butt-enlargment injection from an unlicensed doctor.

    According to the NYPD, there was “no indication” that the woman who injected Mayhew had any kind of professional license or medical endorsement from the state.

    Mayhew’s mother said her daughter started having trouble breathing shortly after she received the butt injections. Seeing Mayhew struggling for air, the suspect fled the scene according to police.

    Mayhew died shortly after being rushed to the hospital. The suspect is still on the lose.

    Mayhew was actually an employee of the Black Entertainment Network (BET). They released this statement Tuesday:

    We are saddened by the death of our colleague and friend, Kelly Mayhew. Our hearts go out to her family and we extend our deepest sympathies for their loss.

    A GoFundMe account was set up for Mayhew’s funeral costs.

    What a sad way to go. And apparently, butt injections are a growing trend.

    God help us all.
