• Democrats Are Rushing To The Defense Of Planned Parenthood After Shocking Video Surfaces

Planned Parenthood’s allies in Congress are rushing to the defense of the abortion business in the wake of a shocking expose’ video that shows its chief medical director outlining plans to sell body parts from late-term aborted babies, and they all claim that they have not seen the video.

Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), a prominent supporter of abortion rights,  dismissed the video as an “outrageous” attack against Planned Parenthood.

“They’ve been attacking Planned Parenthood for years,” she said. “They’ve been calling for investigations for years, and they surface videos and they come on the attack … and I think it’s outrageous.”

Lee said she has not seen the video.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), a member of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus and sponsor of numerous abortion-rights bills, said she instead wanted an investigation into the Center for Medical Progress, the anti-abortion group that filmed the video, when she was asked about Republicans’ planned investigations into Planned Parenthood.

She called Center for Medical Progress “a phony company” and she also claims she hasn’t seen the video.

“Planned Parenthood is actually allowed, is my understanding, for scientific research, to use fetal tissue and that is not illegal,” said Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), a member of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus and sponsor of numerous abortion-rights bills.

“Having talked to the leadership at Planned Parenthood, this was a sting operation,” she added.

Planned Parenthood has dismissed the video  as “grossly mischaracterizing” its legal use of fetal tissue and released 11 pages of attack points against the makers of the video.

Republicans are hoping to keep it in the spotlight for at least several weeks. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) ordered an investigation into the video Wednesday afternoon.

All of the declared Democratic presidential candidates — former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders, former Gov. Martin O’Malley, former Sen. Jim Webb, and former Gov. Lincoln Chafee — has yet to comment on the video.

Clinton, who opposes limits on late-term abortion, has a close relationship with Planned Parenthood and the abortion lobby. She won Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Award in 2009. She received more than $10,000 from the organization during two Senate runs and failed 2008 primary against President Barack Obama

Planned Parenthood performs around 300,000 abortions per year and is the nation’s largest abortion provider. It has received nearly $200 million taxpayer dollars since 2012 including $27 million in grants alone in 2015.

The abortion giant has in turn spent major money supporting the Democratic Party. Nearly all of its nearly $6 million in direct contributions since 1990 have gone to Democrats.
